Everyday Sourdough Bread Recipe
This rustic sourdough loaf is a staple in my kitchen. Here’s how I make it step by step.
Ingredients
- 500g bread flour
- 350g filtered water (room temp)
- 100g active sourdough starter
- 10g salt
Instructions
- Mix flour, water, and starter. Rest 30 minutes (autolyse).
- Add salt and mix until combined.
- Bulk ferment 3–4 hours with stretch & folds every 30 minutes.
- Shape into a round, proof in a floured basket.
- Preheat oven + Dutch oven to 475°F.
- Bake 20 min covered, 25 min uncovered.
- Cool before slicing (if you can wait!).
